DRY MOUTH (2.35 MB)

I know this clip is pretty big. Sorry. While you're waiting, I'll explain what I was trying to do.

First. I'll make excuses for the text I (mistakenly) chose. I want my project to get at the universals of sleep (if there are universals when it comes to something so intimate). I guess it's like getting at the universals of sex: the real stuff is in the personal details. Anyhow, I (stupidly) thought that medical language might get at this concept. NO. No, it certainly doesn't.

Second. I liked the corpse-like quality of the body (it made it seem like the hand was not only writing on top of the body, but also reaching into it). However, this doesn't really communicate. It's still in my own head right now and I haven't found a good way to get it our.

Third. Well. The mistake of using video instead of static typing is that you miss the movement of the actual body. The small changes in breathing are trumped by that sporatic hand. So I basically shot myself in the foot trying to make this thing better.

Fourth. Well, the colors are really bad. Look at 'em.

Fifth. Shit. I don't have anything else to say and I bet than video still hasn't loaded.
