Untitled Sleep was an installation in which three televisions featured 3 different looping video clips running simultaneously. Television #1 (left) featured shots of the head and neck. Television #2 (middle) featured shots of the stomach and back. Television #3 (right) featured shots of the legs and feet.

Since the clips on each television took different times to loop, the three screens combined in different ways (based purely on chance). There were moments when all three televisions were silent and times when they were all talking at once. Sometimes the three images seemed to fit together. Sometimes, they seemed quite dissonent. Even though the longest clip was 4 minutes, this dynamic set-up of the loops drew viewers into the installation for much longer.

Dec 5th :: Biblio Bookstore (Tucson, AZ)

Untitled Sleep premiered at Biblio bookstore (thanks to Maggie) before a works-in-progress reading by U of A MFA students in both fiction and poetry. While a lot of people viewed it, the installation was not created for this type of space. I set up three televisions on top of a bookshelf in the middle of the space.

Dec 6th :: U of A campus grounds (Tucson, AZ)

The campus lawn was the intended space for Untitled Sleep. Three televisions were set on the ground at the end of a very long strip of grass that divided many of the buildings. There were two walkways on either side of the installation. To face the televisions, students had to venture out to the middle of the lawn.
