Doctor places objects on patient’s body while he’s
blindfolded. Patient is asked to discern the object and describe it’s
properties.
:: CLOCK
I feel it ticking, Doctor, like a pulse. Racing! Too fast to be a man’s—a
woman! A greasy woman you picked off the street. Doctor, disgusting,
I could get an erection. She feels like a fish, twitching for air.
:: HANDS. ONCE WITH GLOVES. ONCE, WITHOUT.
It’s an apple, Doctor. I can tell by its ripeness. The kind I
plucked from the orchard as a boy. I don’t know why it’s
moving. Apples never moved. But that’s done, Doctor. Done. Those
baskets of apples. They make me old. Rounder and dead.
:: SHEET OF PAPER
It's a sheet of paper. But the paper's magnetic. It's clinging to me,
as if it wants me to read it. Doctor, remove it--the words are like
static. They snap at my skin. Lift up the hairs.
:: PIECE OF GLASS
I’m cold, Doctor. So cold.
