Oh JEM. He was a weird user. Always maudlin. Always melodramatic. Not a little smarmy. All of JEM's monologues were accompanied by silent films. So if the video seems a little random, it’s because we decided to stick to his characterization throughout the entire show than get deeper into the cyborg-doctor thing. It’s a fun monologue. If I had to do it over again, I would have really driven home the difference between the benign doctor that JEM describes and the S&M doctor we never quite pulled off in the performance. Al and Win-Sie could have gotten really physical, thereby widening the gap between what was projected and what actually occurred. Maybe… (oh shit, I don’t know). As is, Al was merely a voice-over for the video. How boring (and safe)...
