THE BEAUTY OF THE HUSBAND
:: BOOKLIST

The Beauty of the Husband Anne Carson

"My husband lied about everything"

Here Carson describes the treacherousness/beauty of an ex-husband in 29 tangos. This book is hard-core. And sad. It seems like every book is sad.

A wound gives it's own light (5)

Her husband copied passages from her notebooks and sent them to his mistresses.

Not ashamed to say I loved him for his beauty. As I would again if he came near. Beauty convinces.

This is a tale. Like Chaucer or something. Not that I've read Chaucer since high school. But I get the same feeling. Something devious about the whole thing. Something dry. Anyway, this book reminded me of something that I can't write online. Email me and I'll tell you.
