This is a picture of Steven from the Ga Tech SPS. He's dressed up as the Magic Eigenvalue Fairy. (Note: This won't be that funny unless you're a physics or math geek.) Once upon a time, there was a undergraduate studying hard for a Quantum Mechanics Final. After several hours of studying, she became rather loopy, and drew a picture of the Magic Eigenvalue Fairy to help her obtain the energies of a system. To this day, the picture still hangs in the halls of SPS. Alas, that night the magic eigenvalue fairy did not visit. However, many moons later, on All Hallow's Eve, the eigenvalue fairy did come! She (he?) didn't grant any wishes, or provide answers to quantum homework, but she (he?) did win the costume contest. The EVF had the rigor stick, with a Hamiltonain on the end, which generated many an eigenvalue. He also had eigenvalue dust, which he sprinkled on everyone as he frolicked about the room. His wings had raising operators on them, so he could fly away at the end of the evening, off to far away places to not help other poor physics majors.
